Nekodeps

What is Nekodeps?

Nekodeps is a system running at irix.spinlocksolutions.com where you can see a list of all available Nekoware packages for Silicon Graphics IRIX 6.5 Operating System, select the ones you're interested in, and download a script generated for you based on the selections. The script automatically downloads the requested packages and their dependencies to your machine, and runs the installation.

Nekoware is Nekochan's collection of Free Software compiled for Silicon Graphics MIPS workstations using the MIPSPro compiler.

Why is this script needed?

Packages have dependencies, and the Nekoware archive is bulky and more than 10 gigabytes in size. When you select the packages you want, the script calculates dependencies and generates a downloader script. The script downloads (only) the packages you need and starts installation.

Is there something else for this purpose?

Nekoware itself does not have a dependency resolver. Some people use the Nekosync script.
